This policy explains how ProChecked Limited, an Ohio company ("ProChecked," "we," "us"), handles personal data on getprochecked.com and in the ProChecked, Lite, and Zero apps. ProChecked is built by one person and designed, on purpose, to collect as little as possible.
The short version
- Zero and the offline parts of Lite/Pro never send your notes, tasks, or meeting content anywhere. Your data stays on your device.
- We collect an email address (and, if you choose a password instead of a magic link, a securely hashed password) to run your account, verify your purchase, and unlock the tutorials for your tier.
- We run one privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool (Plausible) to see aggregate traffic — no ads, no ad trackers, and we don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We use a small number of outside services to run the site and send account emails — listed below, with what each one sees.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what our systems need to keep your account working, and what your browser sends automatically as part of loading a normal web page.
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Account sign-up, magic-link sign-in, license linking, the "Reserve this tier" form | To identify your account, send sign-in links, and confirm your purchase |
| Password (stored as a salted PBKDF2 hash — never in plain text) | Only if you choose "Use a password" instead of a magic link | To sign you in without emailing a link each time |
| License key | When you link a purchase to your account | To unlock the tutorials and features for the tier you bought |
Session identifier (a random token in the pc_session cookie) | After you sign in | To keep you signed in between page loads — see our Cookie Policy |
| Basic request data (IP address, browser type, page requested) | Every page load, via our hosting provider's standard server logs | Security, abuse prevention, and keeping the site running — not used to build a profile of you |
We do not collect payment card numbers directly — if and when checkout is handled by a payment processor, that processor collects card details on its own systems, not ours, and we'll name it here before that goes live.
The "Reserve this tier" and "Get notified" forms
Clicking "Get notified" opens a signup popup hosted by MailerLite, our email list provider — the only thing it collects is the email address you type into it, which is used solely to email you when ProChecked launches. You can unsubscribe from that list at any time using the link in any email it sends.
The Purchase page's "Reserve this tier" button still opens a pre-filled email to sales@getprochecked.com from your own mail client for now — nothing you type there is transmitted anywhere until you choose to send that email.
Third parties we use
| Service | What it's for | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting, our account database, and infrastructure | Standard server logs and the account data described above, stored in Cloudflare's systems on our behalf |
| Resend | Sending magic-link and account emails | Your email address and the content of that one transactional email — nothing else |
| Google Fonts | Loading the typefaces used on this site | Your IP address and browser type, as part of the standard font request — Google's own privacy policy governs that request |
| MailerLite | Launch-announcement email signups via the "Get notified" popup | The email address you submit through that popup, and standard delivery/open data for the emails it sends you |
| Plausible | Aggregate site-traffic analytics (page views, referrers, browser/device type) | No personal data — Plausible doesn't use cookies, doesn't collect or store your IP address, and can't identify you individually or across sites. See Plausible's data policy. |
We don't use any advertising network, ad-tracking pixel, or cross-site tracking tool on getprochecked.com.
Cookies
We use exactly one cookie, pc_session, which is strictly necessary to keep you signed in and is never used for advertising or tracking. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
How long we keep data
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Sign-in sessions expire automatically after 30 days. Magic-link sign-in tokens expire after 15 minutes and are single-use. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete the associated email, password hash, session records, and license link within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep minimal purchase records for tax or accounting purposes.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us, at any time, to see what data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — email sales@getprochecked.com and we'll respond directly. Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights under laws like the GDPR (EU/UK) or state privacy laws in the US (for example, California's CCPA) — we'll honor requests made under those laws to the extent they apply, even where we haven't listed every jurisdiction-specific term here.
Children's privacy
ProChecked is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA256 (100,000 iterations, per-account random salt) — we never store or see your plain-text password. Session cookies are marked HttpOnly and Secure and only sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we don't collect more than we need specifically so there's less at risk if something ever goes wrong.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change what we collect or why, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above. Because ProChecked is a small, one-person company, we won't always send an individual email for every change — check back here periodically.
